And at just the right moment: in the newly opened city hall, it soon became clear that space as a resource was already becoming scarce again. A clear mandate, in effect, to use floor space more consciously. Building on the existing values of the Society and Health division (team spirit, willingness to develop and shared responsibility), we rethought collaboration, working culture and workspace design. In a participatory process using a variant study, we clarified the needs and brought them into alignment. The result is a pilot office that enables flexibility, encourages exchange and supports focused work – a reference model for efficient, modern and values-based design in Bülach City Hall.
